V-Neck Design---More Progress

I am going to finish the V-neck embroidery. Below are the pictures taken yesterday. I wish I complete it today.

Embroidered V-neck---Progress so far

I had very little time this week with my needle and thread. I completed only four flowers out of nine. It took some time to pick out the satin stitch on the first flower and replace it with buttonhole stitch. I had to be extra careful not to damage the fabric. I am planning to complete the neck design before Monday.

Buttonhole stitch vs. satin stitch

For the V-neck design that I am embroidering now, I decided to use buttonhole stitch instead of satin stitch because I found it difficult to satin stitch the flowers on this silky fabric. I did the second flower using buttonhole stitch which for me looks better than satin stitch.

Neck patterns

I am embroidering two different neck patterns at present.

The first is a V-shaped one.



I decided to use satin stitch for the flowers, however after completing the first flower now I am thinking it would be better to use buttonhole stitch which would be less time consuming than satin stitch. For the leaves, I am using lazy daisy stitch and for the stems, stem stitch.



The second neck design is an intricate one and contains lots of elements to embroider. Take a look at the images below. I kept this project aside a month ago as I was running out of threads. Now after buying the threads I have started the project again.

Embroidered neck design

This is a paisley neck design I embroidered on a tunic recently.



I chain stitched the outlines of the paisley design and used green and cream color sequins and mirrors to decorate the design.

Applique work

Hi friends,

I missed you all for quite some time. I was busy with my office work during last month. Could not find time to update my blog.

I would like to share some images of my first ever hand applique embroidery on a cushion cover.

Applique is very easy to do and is not time consuming.

I did not plan beforehand to take step-by-step photos when I did this project. I will try to explain applique work with step-by-step photos and instructions in my next applique project.

I used the needle turn method to stitch this appliqued flower.
