I am currently embroidering on a lunch napkin for my elder daughter. Recently, I have been drawn to Hungarian embroidery. I like it for the vibrant colors and simple stitches used in it. Here are some photos of my project.
Satin stitch is the main stitch used in Matyo embroidery. I will regularly post the progress pictures of this project. I am also making progress with my other projects: doily and kurta neck design. Will post these projects soon.
Note: Earlier I had posted that this is Kalocsa embroidery. Sorry for confusing you all. It is Matyo embroidery.

Hi flora, posting after a long time. welcome back. The project coming up beautifully. I am also a fan of hungarian embroidery designs and it's in my to do list. Having some designs as well. looking forward for your other projects. After seeing your long and short stitch projects I am inspired to do that and have purchased a book of Trish burr. And learning the concept of shading now. Will do a project in Long and short stitch this year and in the coming years should try hungarian embroidery also. I am dreaming of doing a cushion in hungarian emb for a long time.

It's an excellent book on this subject. You are already a talented embroiderer. You will easily master long and short embroidery. I am waiting to see your Hungarian embroidery cushion cover project. Hi, I just found your blog via a Pinterest search for floral embroidery patterns. What lovely work! I too am drawn to Hungarian designs, but so far have not tried any because I really have trouble making a pretty satin stitch. I read on one of your posts that you only use one strand of floss. That must take forever. However, I do plan to try it out soon. Thank you for sharing so much so freely.
Wonderful machine embroidery Flora. Are you doing embroidery digitizing work yourself? If so what software are you using? It is simply amazing.
